This is an example of a WWII issue "US Property" marked 1903 hammerless pistol manufactured in 1942. These pistols were issued to many General Officers and OSS service members during and after WWII (some records exist documenting specific recipients, but research has not been done). It has the standard two line address and patent dates (1897 and 1903) on the left side of the slide, with the Rampant Colt behind the serrations, with the right side marked; "COLT AUTOMATIC/CALIBRE 32 RIMLESS SMOKELESS". The left side of the frame is marked with the serial number and the right side is marked with only "US PROPERTY". The left front of the trigger guard bow is marked with a punch dot indicating military acceptance over the Colt triangle "VP" proof and the right side is marked with a "73". It has the standard fixed sights, all parkerized finish, with a blue barrel, bright at the chamber, blue magazine marked "CAL. 32 / COLT" on the bottom, and fitted with checkered walnut grips with silver Colt medallions.

Excellent. The pistol retains 90% original parkerized finish with some wear on the lower front of the slide from normal usage and overall high edge wear. The back of the slide and frame show some minor wear and overall there are a few minor scratches. The grips are very good with exception of a deep dent on the lower right panel, some mild wear, minor handling marks and overall crisp checkering. The markings remain clear. Mechanically excellent.
