Description:

Manufactured in August of 1942. The rear of the receiver is marked "U.S. RIFLE / CAL. 30 M1 / SPRINGFIELD / ARMORY" over the serial number. Correct "S.A. 8-42" marked barrel. Blade and peep sights, with Battle Range drum and locking bar. Springfield bolt, trigger housing, hammer and operating rod. Mounted with a smooth stock with a circled "P" in the grip and a boxed "S.A. / E.McF." inspection mark followed by the crossed cannon cartouche.(writer believes this to be a later World War II inspector mark)

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The rifle retains 98% original parkerized finish. The replacement stock is very fine with a number of small dings on the left side and overall some scattered minor dents and scratches. The cartouches and markings are clear and crisp. The action is excellent.
