Description:

This is an example of a WWII U.S. Army Stevens contract 520-30 trench shotgun, with correct bayonet lug adapter and 6-hole ventilated hand guard. The right side of the barrel has the three line address along with "P / [ordnance bomb] at the breech and the left side has the two line gauge marking ("PROOF TESTED-12 GAUGE / -2 3/4 INCH CHAMBER-). Choke gauges at a loose cylinder. The left side of the receiver has the model marking, along with U.S." and "P / [ordnance bomb]" markings. "P" is also stamped on top of the barrel and receiver at the breech. All blue finish with smooth forearm and pistol grip stock, sling swivels, and serrated plastic buttplate. LOP: 14".

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The shotgun retains 80% slightly thinning original blue finish with extensive slide wear. The receiver has some very scattered minor spotting. A couple missing chips and a couple cracks near the tangs, otherwise the wood is very good with some minor handling marks. The buttplate has a few stress cracks radiating from the screws. Mechanically fine.
