Second Model, produced in 1879. Blue with casehardened frame and bird head grips. Standard two line Hartford barrel address, etched "COLT NEW 38" on the left barrel side, and "38 C" on the left side of the frame. Alternating British proofs on the cylinder and two British proofs on the barrel underside. Matching numbers on cylinder, barrel, and frame.

Excellent. The barrel and cylinder retain 90% original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. The etched panel is crisp and clear. The frame retains 75% plus vivid original case colors. The grips are excellent with most of the varnish remaining and some minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
