Produced in 1943, this pistol was destined to be a commercial Colt Government Model pistol, which was redirected, inspected and finished for Military sale. Fixed sights, with the two line address and patent markings on the left side, "COLT" and "AUTOMATIC/ CALIBRE .45" on the right, "P" on top and matching serial number under the firing pin stop. "G.H.D." inspected frame, with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and "M1911A1 U.S.ARMY" on the right side. Checkered wide spur hammer, thumb safety, slide release, milled trigger and arched main spring housing. Fitted with a blued Springfield barrel, early unribbed Colt grips, and "S" marked full blue magazine.

Excellent, 97% plus original parkerized finish, with light edge wear and handling marks. Grips are excellent, with a few minor dings. Mechanically excellent.
