Penfield above the magazine release. The rear of the slide is marked "H" above the firing pin and the right side is marked "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY", with the serial number on the right side of the frame behind the slide stop. The top of the barrel chamber is marked with a "H" and "P". Smooth trigger, checkered slide stop, thumb safety, magazine release and wide spur hammer. Standard lower profile fixed sights, (early variation rounded) rear sight, lanyard loop on the heel, two tone unmarked magazine with lanyard loop on the bottom and fitted with checkered walnut grips with diamond pattern around the screws.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The pistol retains 80% original blue finish with an area of smooth gray on the right front of the slide, wear on the muzzle end and high edges. The outer lower edges of the front of the frame have some smooth gray patina and the grip straps have thinned to a smooth mottled gray patina. Overall there are some scattered minor scratches. The grips are also very fine with some minor wear on the lower edges and some light wear on the otherwise very crisp checkering. The markings are highlighted in white and remain clear and crisp. Mechanically excellent.
