Description:

The Kirkpatrick brothers were well known for their love of animals (mostly reptiles) and creating interesting figurals. This salt glaze Owl whistle sits on a half log base which is incised with the "Night Operator", "Anna Pottery" "Anna 1888". The owl features glass eyes with polychrome glaze accents on the body and the log pearch. The tail functions as a whistle and sounds exactly like an owl. Writer has no idea how the Kirkpatrick's achieved what many would deem impossible. How would one know the measurements of the hole(s) to duplicate the owl sound? They did! H 5/14" W 3 1/2", L 4".

Rating Definition:

Excellent condition with exception of once being reglued back to the base. Owl whistle functions well. Eyes are perfect. A once in a lifetime opportunity!
