Description:

True piece of American Folk Art. Five gallon decorated salt glaze stoneware cream jar with free hand cobalt blue presentation "Minnie's Cream Jar" at the top and "Robt. Fullton" at the bottom. Around the top of the jar is a beautiful free hand design that wraps around the jar, the two strap handles have cobalt blue accents. The middle of the jug is stenciled with "5" and a large rooster in cobalt blue. Attributed to Midwestern pottery, possibly Ohio or Illinois. H 15 1/2" W 13"

Rating Definition:

Very fine condition overall. The jar has hair lines at the base and a couple small chips on the rim with some flaking of the salt glaze on the back.
