Description:

Rare six gallon eastern jug dated in cobalt blue free hand writing "1844/Dr. A. Dubois" on the back of the churn. On the front of the churn is a floral design with and impressed block stamp "6" with cobalt rubbed into the stamp. Two lug handles are applied to the sides of the churn and are accented with cobalt blue. The top of the churn has a large collar with a rib that runs around the churn. The hand turned churn is lined with a brown Albany slip glaze. The churn is in good condition with a few kiln burns and a few chips on the color. H 20" W 12"
