Peaked style officer's cap, black wool construction with white piping and a black headband, the cap badges have been removed. The visor itself has a high polish black finsih on top and brown on the underside which is ink marked "R Z/ M" around the "SS" mark. Orange cloth inner liner, with "56/ SS" in gold and a tag marked "O:Sch./ ENGELHARDT/ 77.Ke." under the sweat diamond, and a RZM label marked "TUCHMUTZE fur SS" (cloth hat for SS) tag missing and the orange cloth lining has been poorly reswen in tucked under the band, numbered "4" and " Reichszeigmeisterer der NSDAP Nr. A 126225".

Near excellent overall the outer cloth material is excellent with two minor tears that have an old repair. The sweatband is entirely absent, with wear and lost stitching on the lining. Some minor handling marks and staining overall.
