Description:

Only one of two known, six gallon salt glaze jug with cobalt blue stencil "Colchester Pottery/ 5/Colchester, Ill". Salt glaze exterior with large turkey droppings. Large strap handle applied to the spout and to the shoulder of the jug in the back. Flaking of the glaze in the back and at the base of the jug. Colchester Pottery was in business from 1890 to 1898.

Fine condition with flaking of the glaze in the back and on the base.
