Description:

Thee stoneware dog doorstops with midwestern features. The first dog is made by Galesburg Pottery of Galesburg, Illinois. The base of the dog is incised with "Souvenir 1877/F.M.King Co. 1897". Commemorating a twentieth anniversary. The piece is covered in a very dark brown Albany slip glaze. Stamped on the bottom "Galesburg Pottery. The piece displays well but has a large chip in the back at the base. The second dog is what is referred to a as a "lunch hour" piece with incised features on the dog's face and leash. At the base incised are the initials "W.F.K." believed to be made in Galesburg, Illinois as a gift for one of the King family members. The piece is in very good condition with a few minor chips in the base. Third is made from red terra cotta clay with a shinny orange glaze with Albany slip glaze accents to the ears and back. A slot in back indicates this was made as a bank. The piece is in excellent condition. Galesburg Dog H 7" W 7 1/2" D 5", Lunch Hour Dog H 7" W 5" D 3 1/2", Terra Cotta Dog H 8 1/2 W 7" D 5 1/2"
