Description:

This is an example of a standard WWII German Army, early production Mauser luger as manufactured in 1937 that has the all blued parts. The top of the chamber area is dated 1937 and it has the "S/42" code marking on the front toggle. It has the early style "Eagle/ 63" Waffenamt proofs on the barrel extension. The underside of the barrel is marked only with the serial number of the pistol. There is an early single eagle firing proof also on the barrel extension, and breechblock. It has the standard "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" on the upper safety area and extractor, respectively. It is fitted with standard checkered walnut grips and is complete with one magazine that has the "fxo/eagle 37 /P08" markings on the left side of the blue magazine body and that is fitted with an unmarked aluminum base. As noted this model has the all blued finish with walnut grips.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as partially refinished (barrel, see later in description) with 95% of the blue finish on the balance with some minor edge and high spot wear, with thinning and slight browning on the back strap and stock lug. The blue finish on the barrel (only) has been professionally restored and matches the rest of the pistol very well. The grips are in very good condition with intact diamond checkering on both sides with even honest light wear across the tops of the checkering on both sides. Mechanically excellent. This Luger has all matching numbers except the magazine which is unnumbered as noted above.
