Description:

This is a fine example of a post WWI German police rework Luger pistol. The top of the chamber has the double dates of '1920/1915' indicating 1920 as the year that the Luger was verified/reworked under the Versailles treaty over 1915, the original manufacturing date. The front toggle has the "DWM" monogram indicating original manufacture by Deutsche Werkes Manufacturing. The right side of the barrel extension has the three Crown over script proof marks next to the single Imperial eagle firing proof. The top of the barrel and the left side of the breechblock, also have the single Imperial eagle firing proof. It has the correct safety and extractor markings. The pistol has the correct sear safety added by Nazi Police, on top of the side plate. As noted this pistol has a matching police magazine that has an unmarked nickel plated magazine body with the aluminum base which is stamped in a typical police style with a larger '7034/2' with a single Simson 'Eagle/6' proof mark. It has the standard all blued finish with straw colored small parts with checkered walnut grips,

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 90% of the slightly faded original arsenal reworked blue finish overall with minor edge and high spot wear, with some brown patina starting in the middle of the front and rear grip straps. The various small parts retain 35% of their original straw colors. The grips are very good overall with nice dark brown finish on both sides with good checkering showing minor handling marks and light pressure dents on both sides. The pistol has all matching numbers to include the magazine. A nice example of a post WWI German Police Luger.
