Description:

This is a nice example of the 1914 pattern, WWI Luger as used by all German forces. These pistols have an all rust blue finish with straw colored small parts. The top of the barrel extension is dated 1916 and the front toggle is marked "DWM". The right side of the barrel extension has the three "crown/ gothic letter" proofs next to the Imperial Eagle proof. The Imperial eagle is also marked on the top of the barrel (faint) and left side of the breechblock. Visible numbers match. The upper safety position and extractor are correctly marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN". Fixed sights, stock lug, plated magazine with wooden base marked with crown over Gothic letter proofs, an "x" and serial numbered "2629/a". Fitted with the standard checkered walnut grips stamped with the partial serial number "37" on the inside of each panel.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The pistol retains 75% much faded original blue finish with minor muzzle and high edge wear and some light spotting on the grip straps. Almost all of the original straw color remains on the extractor and trigger sides with a smooth silver gray on the remaining small parts. The grips are very good with a chip under the safety lever, some minor wear, bruises, dings and crisp checkering. Unless noted above, the markings are clear. Mechanically excellent.
