Marked "ALLEN & THURBER WORCESTER" on one of the 6-shot barrel cluster ribs and "PATENTED 1837 CAST STEEL" on another rib, with "ALLEN'S PATENT" on the left side of the hammer. Matching numbers on the frame, hammer spring and both grips, with trigger guard stamped "3 / 35". The frame and nipple shield are lightly engraved. Fitted with smooth bag shaped walnut grips. Complete with a wooden case lined in deep purple velvet. The following accessories are included: two cavity bullet mold, double face powder flask, Eley cap tin with some caps, box for combustible envelop cartridges (poor), and ramrod.

Very good. The pepperbox has a mottled brown-gray patina with traces of original blue finish and case colors in the protected areas. There is some minor spotting (mostly on the barrel). The grips are very fine with some minor scratches, dings, and pressure dents (mostly near the bottoms). The correct original case is very fine with nice lining, minor handling marks and crude period replacement latch, with some moderate wear to the lining.
