Penfield above the magazine release. The rear of the slide is marked "H" above the firing pin and the right side is marked "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY", with the serial number on the right side of the frame behind the slide stop. The top of the barrel chamber is marked with a "H" and "P" with the common leg. Smooth trigger, checkered slide stop, thumb safety, magazine release and wide spur hammer. Standard lower profile fixed sights, (early variation rounded rear sight), lanyard loop on the heel, two tone unmarked magazine with lanyard loop on the bottom and fitted with checkered walnut grips with diamond pattern around the screws.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The pistol retains 40% original thin blue finish with the majority concentrated on the slide, right side of the frame and bottom of the frame. The balance has a smooth gray and brownish gray patina. The checkering on the grips has been re-cut remaining sharp, and there are light handling marks. The grip screws show some slight marring. The markings are highlighted in white and remain clear and crisp. Mechanically excellent.
