Approximately 8,000 of these revolvers were produced in 22 caliber from 1949 to 1952. This example has target sights and a custom engraving. Scroll and punch dot engraving around the standard barrel markings with the engraving extends to wedges at the muzzle and breech. The engraving is also featured on the cylinder chambers and frame sides, with a starburst engraving on the crane, right side of frame, and trigger guard. The engraving surrounds the rampant colt on the side plate. Top strap has scroll and geometric pattern engravings with a geometric engraving on the butt. Fitted with ivory grips featuring rampant colt medallions at the top. Signed by Master Engraver Mike Gouse ("ENGR ME G 96"on the right side of the frame under the grip). With a Colt faux leather box with Officers Model Match Revolver end label.

Excellent as custom embellished, retaining 97% of the blue finish showing some minor thinning with a noticeable cylinder drag line and moderate muzzle wear. The grips are excellent with a few hairline age cracks and some mild scratches. The ivory has aged to an attractive yellow color with attractive grain pattern. Box is fair with tape repairs.
