Manufactured in 1922. Blade front and notch rear sights, with the two line address/patent marking on top of the barrel, "COLT ARMY / SPECIAL 38" on the left side, Rampant Colt and "VP" proof on the left side of the frame. Fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with "COLT" in an oval at the top and "C" around the screw.

Excellent, with 99% of the original blue finish, showing a few light handling marks overall. Grips are excellent, with light pressure dents on the sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Produced circa 1938. Adjustable red painted Patridge blade front sight and notch rear sights mounted on the flat top frame, with the barrel marked "COLT POLICE / POSITIVE TARGET.CAL.22" on the left side, the 2 line address and patent dates on top, and the Rampant Colt on the left side of the frame. Checkered grips, with Rampant Colt medallions.
