Very fine. The revolver retains 85% original nickel finish with flaking on the cylinder, frame edges and barrel, and some blistering and flaking on the left side of the barrel lug. 20% of the gold remains on the small parts with a smooth brown patina on the balance. The grip remains 90% original finish with wear on the high edges, with an aged patina on the exposed brass. Clear markings. The action is fine.
Nearly identical to a gun pictured on page 250 of Lewis Winant's "Firearms Curiosa", this is an all-metal, folding, double action revolver with a 5-shot cylinder and folding trigger. Blade front and recoil shield notch rear sights, with "D.D.OURY/ Bte" on the left side of the frame, Liege proofs on the rear of the cylinder, numerous Belgium proofs on the right side of the barrel lug and frame and "NOVO" on either side of the grip, which has raised scrollwork and a textured background. Nickel finish with gold plated trigger, grip latch and barrel release lever. There is light floral engraving around the frame screws.
