Description:

European, possibly Belgium in origin. No makers marks, the only visible marking is a "VJ" in an oval on the bottom of the frame directly behind the hammer and the number "4" on the bottom of the frame and barrel at the breech. Floral vine engraving on the frame sides and upper tang. Screw off Damascus barrel, folding trigger and fitted with a smooth burl walnut grip scallop caving around the edge of the butt. Complete in a wooden case with relined green felt lining.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The barrel retains traces original brown finish showing almost all of the Damascus pattern. The remaining metal surfaces have a smooth mottled silver/gray patina. The grip is fine with some scattered minor, dings and dents. The engraving is clear. The action is excellent. The case is good with scratches and dings on the exterior, the hinges are replacements, with the slots crudely cut out and one is loose. The relined interior is very good with some minor contact wear.
