Bead and groove sights, with a gold band at the breech and "LANE & READ BOSTON" inside the groove. The lock plate is marked "LANE & READ/BOSTON. Checkered straight wrist stock, with German silver tip and escutcheons, shadow-line cheekpiece, "Daniel/Webster" signed on a gold panel on the underside, and a smooth flat buttplate. The wood shows an attractive grain, with an especially fine marbled pattern towards the buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very good, with mostly a brown patina overall, showing some mild handling marks and light spots on the barrel. The lock plate and trigger guard shows a mixed dark patina. Stock is very good as revarnished, with some dents on the escutcheons and mild dings overall. Mechanically very good.
