Manufactured in 1901. Top of #2 barrel has two-line Winchester address, "22 LONG R." at the breech and the serial number and 1879 patent date are on the lower tang. Folding combination beach front sight with a filler block in the rear sight dovetail and a short range tang mounted peep sight. Smooth forearm and straight grip stock with ebony forend insert and crescent buttplate.

Very good as modified. The metal surfaces have a smooth brown patina with scattered traces of thin blue finish. The lever and buttplate have a smooth mottled gray patina. The barrel has been shortened to its present length of 24 3/8 inch. The wood is good with overall minor dents and scratches. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
