Description:

This is a small display model of the clipper ship Cutty Sark measuring approximately 5 1/4 inches long and 4 inches tall. The ship is silver with gold rigging, flags, deck cabins and other small details. Comes in a Plexiglas display case. Built in 1869 at Dumbarton, Scotland, the Cutty Sark was the last clipper to be built as a merchant ship and participated in the tea trade before becoming training a ship until being put on public display in 1954. Today the Cutty Sark is preserved as a museum ship in Greenwich and is part of the National Historic Fleet, Core Collection. The Cutty Sark is the only tea clipper still in existence.
