Description:

Black morocco leather box 7 1/2 inches long, 3 inches wide, marked "SHARPS RIFLE Co. / BRIDGEPORT CONN." in gold letters on top. These late cases were made for Sharps by Gorham Silver Co. The black morocco leather covering is padded on the top but applied directly to the wood case on the sides and bottom. The inside of the lid is lined in padded purple silk, the bottom with darker purple velvet. There are fitted recesses for a 5 1/2 inch staff, the front sight with level, both bases, a peep cup and inserts for the front sight. None of these accompany the case.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with some light exterior wear and scuffing overall. The wood around the latch is cracked, with visible wood on the bottom. Interior is also very fine, with light staining. The ultimate accessory.
