This is an original hardwood partitioned case for a Colt Model 1849 Revolver as produced by W. Kidder. The case retains the original brown velvet lining. The inside of the case is stamped "MANUFACTURED/SOLELY BY W. KIDDER." and "PATENT, APR. 1854" between the two hinges. The case has brass corner protectors and has a lock. Comes with a double face Eagle powder flask, "COLT'S/PATENT" marked two cavity bullet mold, Eley percussion cap tin (caps included) and key.

Very fine. The wood of the case shows some minor dings and scratches. The fine original lining shows wear caused by the high points of a revolver. The partitioned walls have been reattached to the case and a hinge screw is missing. The excellent flask has a couple minor dings. The excellent bullet mold retains 85% plus original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina.
