Description:

Model 1860 Army revolvers with fluted cylinders are only found among the first 8,000 produced (This example is assembled from parts to represent one of these). Blade front and hammer notch rear sight, with the New York address on top of the barrel running from muzzle to breech, "COLTS / PATENT" on the left side of the 4-screw frame and "PATENTED SEPT. 10th 1850" in one of the cylinder flutes. The recoil shield is properly cut for a stock.

Rating Definition:

Refinished, assembled, and renumbered (back strap and modern replacement barrel), with the surfaces an artificial brown patina, showing patches of gray, scattered dents, and areas of pitting. The wedge has been renumbered. A mixed brown patina is showing on the frame, and traces of silver remain on the trigger guard, which shows a bright patina overall. Grip is a revarnished modern replacement, with some minor dents. Mechanically fair.
