Description:

Manufactured in 1866. The top barrel flat is stamped with the one line New York address and the frame has "COLTS / PATENT" stamped on the left side. The caliber marking is featured on the left trigger guard shoulder and the cylinder has the stagecoach holdup scene. Visible numbers match with the loading lever unmarked. Fitted with a varnished one piece grip.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The barrel retains 50% original blue finish with the balance a smooth gray patina with some minor spotting. There are some tool marks and numerous dings on the barrel at the breech end. The remaining iron surfaces have a smooth gray patina with traces of original case colors remaining on the loading lever. The cylinder retains most of the roll engraved scene. The grip straps retain traces of original silver plating in the protected areas with the exposed brass have a mixed patina. The grip is very fine with a series of minor pressure dents on the bottom and some scattered minor handling marks overall. The grip retains most of the varnish. Mechanically functions, but cylinder does not rotate.
