Made in 1883 and embellished most likely by one of the New York firms, or at least by one of their competitors. Fixed sights, with the one line Hartford address on top of the barrel and the three line, three date patent markings on the left side of the frame. Scroll and dot engraving is present on the barrel and frame, a punch-dot accented wavy line on the ejector housing, decorative borders around the markings, checkered breech area, mixed designs on the cylinder, thick wavy lines on the top strap, and additional patterns on the back strap. Smooth mother of pearl grips, secured with a set of pins on both sides.

Very good, with 50% of the period replated silver finish, flaking on the high points, scattered handling marks and spotting, and an aged patina in the protected areas. Grips are also very good, with some chipping and age cracking. Mechanically fine.
