Description:

According to the included factory letter, this 44-40 caliber revolver was shipped 25 April 1882 to Hartley & Graham of New York City. Fixed sights, with the one line Hartford address on top of the barrel etched oval "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER" on the left, "44" on the underside, "44 CF" on the trigger guard, and the three line, three date patent markings on the frame. Matching numbers on the frame, cylinder and grip straps, and "7799" on the loading gate. Smooth one-piece grips.

Rating Definition:

Refinished, with an artificial mixed brown and gray patina overall, showing traces of original blue on the ejector housing and in the cylinder, and scattered handling marks. The etching is a light remark, but legible. A similar coloration is showing on the frame. Grips are revarnished, with dents and scratches. Mechanically very good.
