Description:

Approximately 5,250 of these 1st Model 38 Safety Hammerless revolvers were manufactured in 1887. The top of the barrel rib is marked with the two line address/patent dates and the matching serial number is marked on the butt, cylinder and top strap. Z-bar latch found only on the 1st Model.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The revolver retains 85% original nickel finish with scattered minor flaking and some smooth dark patina on the heel. The trigger guard retains 80% original bright blue finish with some minor spotting. The trigger retains almost all of the bright original case colors on the sides, with a smooth gray patina on the face. The grips are excellent. The markings are clear and crisp. The action is excellent.
