Description:

Manufactured in 1885. Blade front sight on barrel with two line block letter address on top and "COLT HOUSE 38" in an original acid etched panel on the left side. "Crown/GP" and "Crown/V" British proofs are stamped on the underside of the barrel and alternating in the cylinder flutes, blade front and notch rear sights. Spur trigger and five round fluted cylinder. The revolver is fitted with the "Cop & Thug" style two-piece checkered black hard rubber, with "COLT" in an oval at the top and a scene of a knife-wielding criminal attacking a policeman brandishing a revolver.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The revolver retains 70% original bright high polish blue finish with overall scattered flaking. The back strap is a smooth brownish patina. Almost all of the original bright niter blue finish remains on the hammer with strong bright blue remaining on the otherwise smooth gray trigger. The grips are very fine with scattered minor dings and crisp checkering. The etched panel is clear and complete, and the barrel marking is crisp. The cylinder doesn't lock up tightly, otherwise the action is very good.
