Manufactured in the first year of production, 1871. Open type frame revolver with round blade front sight and rear notch sight cut into the hammer. Marked "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. Co/ HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." on top of the barrel, flanked by Maltese crosses, and the ejector rod with integral housing is located on the lower right side. 7-shot non-fluted cylinder, numbered "1" on the rear face. Smooth oiled walnut birds head grips. Except for the niter blue screws, the finish is full nickel.

Excellent, with 95% of the original nickel finish, showing some mild flaking reserved to the on the front of cylinder and the muzzle. Otherwise only minor collector type handling marks. The niter blue is bright and strong, and the grips are excellent. Action is excellent.
