Description:

Manufactured in 1875 as a short barrel version of the "Cloverleaf" revolver. The left side of the barrel is marked "COLT", probably only due to the short barrel. The top strap is marked "PAT. SEP. 19, 1871", "41 CAL" on the left side of the frame below the cylinder and the matching serial number is marked on the butt and bottom of the barrel. The ejector rod is mounted in the cylinder pin and extends through a lug on the bottom of the barrel to the muzzle. Brass frame, with blue barrel and cylinder. Fitted with varnished walnut grips.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The barrel has a smooth brown and gray patina. The cylinder retains 60% of the faded original blue finish with thinning on the high points. The barrel retains 20% blue with the balance mostly a brown patina with sharp markings. The frame has a very pleasant mustard color aged patina. The grips are excellent with 90% original varnish, some high edge wear and a few minor handling marks. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
