Factory records, show this pistol was shipped on March 24, 1927 to Murta Appleton & Company of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as part of a 2-gun order. All features are confirmed, including the "Level 3" engraving and the pearl grips. Fixed sights, with the two-line Colt address and patent markings on the left side of the slide, the Rampant Colt behind the serrations, and caliber markings below the ejector port. Fine scroll and punch dot engraving is present on the slide, grip safety and frame, with nearly 40% coverage, as well as borders on the slide behind the serrations and vine borders above and below the slide markings. Mother of pearl grips with the Rampant Colt medallions. With a Colt black box renumbered to gun, bearing the blue lettered white label "HAMMERLESS" over the white lettered blue label "Colt Automatic Pistol./ RIMLESS. SMOKELESS. .380" on one end, with the proper labels on the inside and papers.

Excellent plus, with 99% of the original high polish blue finish, showing a minor handling marks. Grips are near new, with a small scratch on the left panel. Mechanically excellent. Box is very good with wear concentrated on the corners and edges, and mild wear on the labels. Mechanically excellent. A superb factory engraved Colt Model 1908 Hammerless pistol.
