Description:

Otto von Bismarck's bold signature is featured on a February 20, 1897 dated hand written letter penned in Friedrichsruh. Translated to English, the German statesman and the first chancellor to the German empire wrote, "Thank you very much for the consignment of your book dealing with the Polish aristocracy. I will be interested in reading it." The letter is matted and framed along with a print of Alonzo Chappel's portrait of Bismarck (circa 1873). The print also has Bismarck's signature. The frame measures 18 1/2 inches x 14 3/4 inches.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The signatures are clear. Two holes have been drilled on the frame for mounting.
