Description:

This is another example of an all original and unaltered, near new WWI German Army 1915 dated DWM military contract luger, complete with one original matching magazine, 1915 brown leather holster, with spare magazine and tool. This mid-WW1 production luger is very rare to have survived in this exceptional condition in the middle of WWI. The top of the chamber is dated 1915 and it has the standard DWM logo on the front toggle. The right side of the barrel extension has the correct three, Crown/Script letter Army inspection proofs along with the single Imperial Army firing proof. The safety and extractor are both correctly marked, and it has the military style serial number placement with the full serial number on the frame, barrel and barrel extension with the last two digits of the serial number on the various small parts to include the one, magazine. This rig is complete with an exceptionally nice dark brown leather holster that has a circular makers mark (which is only partially readable) stamped on the front, with 'BERLIN' in the center of the circle over 1915. Inside the flap it is stamped 'BAG 10'. This rig as noted has two magazines, the matching one is marked on the base '4814d' and the spare magazine is a commercial version, that has the nickel plated magazine body with the wooden base that is marked only 'GERMANY'. The holster is complete with an unmarked luger take down tool.

Rating Definition:

Excellent condition with 95% plus of the bright original blue finish overall with only edge wear with only some very minor thinning of the blue in the middle center section of the front grip strap, which has some cold blue touch-up. Otherwise the overall condition would be like new. The various small parts retain 98% of their straw colors overall. The holster is in very fine condition with a nice dark brown color overall showing no wear with nice tight stitching and clear markings. The leather shows only minor handling marks and scuffs in a couple of places. Just a beautiful example of a near new WWI Imperial Luger rig, complete with one original matching magazine.
