Description:

This is a nice example of a late 1918 DWM luger rig. This example has the large 1918 date on top of the chamber area, with the "DWM" monogram on the front toggle and with the three "crown/gothic letter" proofs next to the Imperial Eagle firing proof, which is also repeated on the right side of the barrel and breechblock. It has standard markings overall and is fitted with a set of checkered, walnut grips. It is complete with two magazines with wooden bases. One magazine has a nickel plated body and the other one has a polished in the white magazine body with both wooden bases unmarked. This lot is complete a WWI brown holster that is marked on the back: "Kern Klager & Cie/1918/Neu-Ulm". The holster is also marked on the inside of the flap with "BAXI" indicating reissue during the Weimar era and has been dyed/painted black, and the take down tool has been numbered "1689" both indicative of a police issue luger.

Rating Definition:

Excellent overall with 98% of the original blue finish with the grip straps thinning slightly. The grips are excellent with sharp checkering overall. The Luger has matching numbers. Mechanically excellent. The holster is in very good condition with minor cracking of the painted finish on the flap and down the front portion of the holster. An exceptional example of a WWI 1918 dated DWM Luger rig.
