Description:

This is an early Nazi P.08 Luger pistol, with the top of the chamber dated 1936 and the front toggle has the wartime code of "S/42", for the Mauser factory, has two matching magazines. The right side of the barrel extension is stamped double eagle 63 Waffenamt proof along with the single eagle firing proof. It is numbered in the military fashion with the full serial number on the front of the frame, the underside of the barrel and the left side of the barrel extension with the last two digits on the various small parts. With all other markings and features being standard. It is fitted with a set of unnumbered checkered walnut grips and has two unmarked nickel plated magazines with aluminum bases that have a "1 & 2 (respectively) over the serial number 8893/+/" and a boxed "B/90"proof on each one. It is complete with a brown smooth leather holster that is stamped on the back with "WALDBROL/next to eagle WaA387 Waffenamt proof/1936' and a WWII takedown tool that is stamped with an eagle/63 Waffenamt proof.

Rating Definition:

Excellent overall with an 95% blue finish with minor wear on the edges and high spots overall. The various small parts retain 98% of their straw colors overall. There is some cold blue touch-up present on some of the holster wear points. The grips are in excellent condition with nice medium brown color on both sides with nice sharp checkering. The holster is in very fine condition with a nice brown color overall, with clear, distinct markings on the back with tight stitching and only minor handling marks and scuffs in a few places. The Luger has matching visible numbers except the unnumbered grips and the renumbered magazines. A nice example of an early 1936 dated S/42 Mauser rig.
