Description:

This is an attractive example of a WWI Imperial German Army Luger pistol that was produced by the DWM factory. The top of the chamber area has the small 1917 date with the DWM monogram on the front toggle. The right side of the barrel extension has the three "crown/letter" Imperial Army acceptance proofs, with Imperial. It is correctly numbered in the military manner with the full serial number on the front of the frame, barrel extension and underside of the barrel with the last two digits of the serial number (39) on the various small parts. It is correctly marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" on the upper safety position and extractor, respectively. It is fitted with a set of checkered walnut grips and has a nickel plated magazine body with a unmarked wooden base, with aluminum alloy base.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 98% of the original rust blue finish overall with edge and high spot wear overall, with the side plate showing an old touch-up/reblued finish. The various small parts retain 95% of their straw colors overall. The walnut grips are in excellent condition with nice distinct checkering on both sides showing only minor light wear across the tops of the checkering overall. The pistol has matching numbers on the various parts except the grips and the magazine, all of which are unnumbered. An excellent example of a late-WWI Imperial German Army Luger pistol.
