Description:

This is an example of an early pre-WWII German "G" date Luger pistol, that was manufactured by the Mauser factory. These "G" lugers were all produced during the time of the early rearmament by the Nazi with the "G" date being the secret code for 1935. This was actually the very first year of actual normalized Luger production, a pivotal Luger in any Luger collection. The top of the chamber has the single "G" date with the "S/42" Mauser code on the front toggle. These early Lugers are all numbered in the military fashion with the full serial number (392) on the frame, barrel extension and underside of the barrel with the last two digits (92) on the various small parts. The right side of the barrel extension has the early double "eagle/63" droop wing acceptance proofs next to the single eagle firing proof. The underside of the barrel has the full serial number and bore diameter. It has the correct Gesichert and Geladen marked safety and extractor area. These short barreled lugers have an inverted "v" type fixed front and rear sight. It is fitted with an unmarked blued WWII magazine with an aluminum base that has been restamped on the bottom: "2/392/c/+/eagle 655". It has matching numbers on all the parts except the magazine as noted above and the grips which are unnumbered.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 98% of a professional restoration, with nice sharp edges and corners with clear sharp markings. The various small parts also have 98% of straw colors overall. The walnut grips are in excellent condition with a very nice darker brown color overall with sharp checkering on both sides. Mechanically excellent. A very nice example of a early WWII scarce "G" date Luger pistol.
