Made in 1992 by Frank Wells, this custom bolt action rifle is built on a Remington 30S action with a Krieger ported barrel chambered in the 505 Gibbs caliber. The left rear of the barrel is marked "505 Gibbs" and the serial number is marked on the left side of the receiver. Ramped blade front sight with high visibility bead and fixed raised rear sight and there is a sling swivel eye mounted on the barrel. Jeweled bolt and extractor, hinged floorplate, serrated trigger and mounted with a deluxe extra fancy checkered English walnut one piece pistol grip stock with ebony forend, plastic grip cap, a solid Decelerator recoil pad and sling swivel stud. The rifle is accompanied by a typed letter signed by Frank Wells confirming the above information to the best of his recollection and that he made the rifle for a gentleman who be believed may have hunted in Africa.

Excellent plus. The rifle retains 99% plus of the original matte blue finish. The stock is also excellent with only a few overall scattered minor dings and sharp checkering. The action is excellent.
