Description:

The rib is marked "PHILIP WILSON & CO. PHILADA". A gold wire inlaid border is featured on the lock plates, left hammer, trigger guard, buttplate tang, barrel tang, and barrel wedge escutcheons. Mounted with a nicely figured half stock with a flat buttplate. The underside of the forearm has a pair of square pearl inserts secured by two screws. Comes with a brass tipped wooden ramrod.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The barrels retain 40% of the damascus pattern with the balance a smooth brown-gray patina. The remaining metal surfaces have a mottled gray patina. The lightly rubbed and reoiled wood is fine with a hairline crack near the upper tang and some very scattered minor handling marks. The right hammer is a replacement, with no gold inlay, like the left one. Mechanically fine.
