Crafted by Antonio Zoli, issued in cooperation with the Naval Museum of Genoa and authorized by the United States Historical Society, this shotgun commemorates the 500 year anniversary of Christopher Columbus' discovery of America and is a limited edition of only 200 shotguns. This shotgun features blue barrels and coin finished remaining parts. There is a single ivory bead sight on the vent rib, with gold "ANTONIO ZOLI" on the left rear and "U.S. HISTORICAL SOCIETY" on the right side. The bottom of the barrel is marked with the Historical Society and Taylor's & Co. addresses, as well as various Italian proofmarks on the barrels and flat. 3 inch chambers, screw in chokes and ejectors. The action, side plates, trigger guard and break lever are nicely decorated with hand engraved floral scroll designs. In addition, the left side plate has the three ships, Nina, Pinta and the Santa Maria gold inlaid in an ocean scene. The left side of the action has a banner with gold inlaid "Columbus" and a map with gold inlaid compass. The right side of the action has a gold inlaid bust of Columbus, "1892-1992" in gold in a banner and the right side plate has a gold inlaid image of Columbus with flag and sword in hand and a gold inlaid ship in the background. The bottom of the action has two gold inlaid eagles. The trigger guard is marked in gold "06/200". The trigger guard plate is signed "U. Calenti". Adjustable single trigger, tang mounted safety/selector and mounted with a nicely figured, finely checkered English walnut forearm with engraved hardware and straight grip stock with a checkered bare butt. Complete with a brown leather takedown case with gold embossed 500 Columbus logo on the lid, royal blue velvet lining, five choke tubes, (two installed, three in the case), and choke tool. Also comes with Certificate of Authenticity. Length of pull is 14 1/4 inches.

Excellent. The barrels retain virtually all of the original blue finish, with some minor scratches under the forearm from normal usage. The upper tang shows some discoloration and minor finish loss, otherwise the remaining coin finished parts retain all of the original finish. The wood is also excellent with a few minor dings and handling marks overall, and very crisp checkering. All of the gold inlay remains and the engraving is crisp. Mechanically excellent. The case is excellent.
