The lock plate has a rearing lion in front of the hammer and the date "1818" stamped vertically behind the hammer. The top of the barrel at the breech and muzzle have ornate cut lines, possibly inlaid at one time. Arabic style hooked stock with mother of pearl triangle shaped inlays featured on the sides of the buttstock, left stock flat and underside of the forearm (over 100 inlays total).

Good. The barrel and action have a mottled gray patina and the trigger guard has a smooth dark patina. There is extensive moderate pitting on the barrel. The refinished stock is very good with numerous pressure dents (mostly on the forearm), a couple gouges near the muzzle, a couple missing slivers of wood, and some minor handling marks.
