In late 1947 Colt introduced the Second Series of the Colt Woodsman. This pistol was manufactured in 1948. It has the single line address stamping on the left side of the barrel, the Rampant Colt is marked on the left side of the frame over "THE WOODSMAN" and "COLT AUTOMATIC / CAL..22 LONG RIFLE" is marked on the left side of the slide. Features include front ramp sight and adjustable rear target sight, a push button magazine release, serrated trigger, blue Colt marked magazine and fitted with checkered Coltwood grips. The back strap is fitted with a prototype steel grip adaptor. The accompanying factory letter verifies the serial number, caliber, barrel length, blue finish, grips as "Not Listed" and that it was shipped as 2 to Washington Hardware Company, Tacoma, Washington on May 24, 1948. Complete with original maroon hinged lid box numbered to gun, manual, test target and sight screwdriver.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The pistol retains 98% original blue finish with some muzzle and high edge wear, and a few minor handling marks overall. The grips are also excellent with a few minor scuffs on the bottom of the left panel and sharp checkering. The markings are clear and crisp. The action is excellent. The box is very good with the four corners of the lid separated and some corner wear.
