Description:

The top of the chamber is dated 1916 and the toggle is marked "DWM". The right side of the barrel extension has the three crown over Gothic letter proofs next to the Imperial Eagle proof, and the left side has the four digit serial number. The bottom of the barrel has the correct four digit serial number along with the letter suffix and the bore diameter of "8,82". It is numbered in the military fashion with the full serial number on the barrel, front of the frame and barrel extension with the last two digits of the serial number on the various small components. It is correctly marked "GESICHERT and GELADEN" on the safety and extractor respectively and it has fixed sights and is fitted with a WWI nickel magazine with a wooden base that is marked with single serial number "4393" and no proof mark.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with 60% of the dull, faded original blue finish on the metal parts with wear and blue loss on the edges and high spots overall with some browning of the blue finish on the side plate, muzzle and frame rails. The small parts retain 30% of their straw colors and there is a small patch of pitting on the left side and front portion of the trigger. The grips are in very good condition with nice original checkering on both sides showing wear across the tops of the checkering and lower edges of the grips, with no cracks or damage. The pistol has all matching numbers except the magazine as noted above.
