Description:

Blade front and 3 leaf rear sights, with the Merrill patent markings on the breech lever and lockplate. Smooth stock, with a single barrel band, saddle ring, patchbox with spare nipple and a brass buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Good, with signs of extensive service use, showing a dark brown patina on the barrel, receiver and lock, heavy flash pitting, and handling marks. Stock is fair as refurbished, with the stock lowered, mild chips and scattered dings amd dents. Mechanically very good. A nice example of a hard to find First Model Merrill Carbine.
