Manufactured from 1863 to 1865 and subsequently refurbished by an arsenal. Top of receiver is marked with the four line address/1860 patent date marking. Worn blade front sight and ladder rear sight graduated to 800 yards. Smooth forearm and straight grip stock with saddle ring and bar on the left side, sling swivel, and iron buttplate. Stock has no visible markings.

Rating Definition:

Very good as arsenal refurbished. Overall the carbine has a smooth gray patina with some areas of a protective coating. The lower tang retains some streaks of blue finish and the receiver and lock retain some flashes of arsenal applied nitre blue. The refinished wood is very good with a couple minor filled repairs and some minor scratches and pressure dents. Mechanically fine.
