Description:

This is an original Civil War Union cavalry regiment recruiting poster dated June 1863 for the state of New York (see image). The cavalry regiment was commanded by Colonel Newton B. Lord. In June 1863 Lord raised the 20th NY Cavalry Regiment to be come its first commanding officer. Prior to commanding the 20th, Lord commanded the 35th New York Infantry. The 20th NY Cavalry Regiment saw action in North Carolina and Virginia and was present at the Appomattox surrender. In a 22" x 28 1/4" frame.

Rating Definition:

Very good, with typical aging and some very scattered loss along the edges especially on the left side which has been trimmed/cut in an irregular pattern. The printing is clear.
